Elysium
02:48
|
|||
You gotta go slow
You gotta go, slow down residential streets, residential streets
Hound barks, loose and wild, game on shriek unseen
self speed to the stop, you gotta go slow, slow down
Bounce Nonstop, hug the rim, watch water spiral down
Sewage spews, ancient river fills as hard rains fall
You gotta go, slow down. You gotta go, slow down!
When obstruction leaves the sun, embrace the light and shine in the dark
Outletless streets lead to elysium, speed toward the void
Gotta go, slow down, I'm tryin to go slow down, I'm trying to go, slow down residential streets

California
02:57
|
|||
There's a fire burning like, California
and the wind manipulates the chaos of the flame.
There's a wind howling just like Chicago
it fuels and deprives the fire of it's air
There's a sun shining like Colorado,
it's bright and dry and way up in the sky
Gas lights once hung on these walls,
now, currents surge inside wires, contained
There's an ocean, heavy, like the air in New Orleans
It hugs like a blanket all around
There's a river rolling like the hills of Pennsylvania
and water survives to tell the tale
There's a water rocking like the thick fog of London
it sways like mesmerizing hips
There's a love hiding inside, walls built by fear and pain
Tear them down and try to be brave
There's a rock, indelible like sounds of Nashville
haunting the corridors of night
There's a mountain crooked as Amsterdam
where buildings lean drunk for centuries
There's a light trapped inside currents surging in wires, contained
The ancient ache of the self restrained
There's a fire burning like California.

Those Times
02:53
|
|||
That once you were lonesome
and at once you were free
and those times you were empty and at once surrounded by me
Ooohhh
And at once you nurtured and those times you destroyed
an that once I was praised and at once they crucified me
Once Bare we see walls full of time--- ahhh
That once, it rains and waters rise despite the sun
and that once you were buoyant and so you float as it floods
Oooohhh
Those times underground remember times in the air
and that once you were weightless and at once anchored by me
Oooohhh
Once bare we see walls full of time

Here We Go Again
03:38
|
|||
Here we go again
I promise to allow myself to see
fault in my children to be
I don't want to hear him, hope he don't hear me
I'm not alone, despite the feeling
Here we go again, Here we go again
Let's move to Dublin, where we can cuddle the cats professionally
we'll stand at the shoreline and watch the waves crash,
we'll never have felt so free
and here we go again, To some new place we'll begin
We moved to Dublin, where we just struggled with the drink,
like everyone else,
but as we know
there was no need to go so far to embarrass ourselves and
Here we go again, Here we go again
Constantly worried that love's getting low
while there's no one at our backs
I'll sit here along on my high lonesome throne
awaiting a counter attack and
Here we go again, I see the ships rolling in
A ghost at the helm with a captive crew
they've come for our hearts and our peace
the loons are a- calling their own ghostly warning
that night is befalling me and
Here we go again, Here we go again
I thought watching the water over and over
in time would grow old to me,
but year after year it's suddenly clear
the only thing older is me and
Here I go again, Here we go again

The Little Creek
04:39
|
|||
In the little creek I'll wash my wounds and
heal them from inside
There's a little creek flowing right through me
it's on fire from all the oil
The heart a sunken fire, abandoned coal mine set aflame
the creek snuffed it out
Ooohhh, Ooohhhhhh, Ooohh
There's a little creak in the floor board
when I look a ghost is there
If I hugged a tree forever would it grow right into me?
Maybe down the little creek
Ooooohhh, die die die, Oooooohhhhh
The little creek is a savior, indeed
to the waters that don't succeed
If I were a balloon I'd fly away
and then I'd turn to stone
Oooohhh ooohhhh lie die de die, ooohhhh
In the little creek the self runs deep
and I'm fishing for my worth

Gold
03:26
|
|||
Come home come
to your queen, to your queen
Come home, come
feed me, feed me
and bow down, bow
bend the knee, bend the knee
And then the day was done,
you bowed to everyone
maybe now you can feel free
strike gold, bend the knee
Leaves die, leaves fall
life renews, eventually
Run, Don't Run!
Return to me, return to me
and Love harder, love
squeeze me
And then the day grew dark,
they can't be told apart
in dreams the day lives on
and gold becomes the sun
Dogs howl, dogs
herd the sheep, herd the sheep
and howl louder, howl
call for me, call for me
and smile bigger, smile
be pretty for me
and then the day was done
You smiled at everyone
maybe now you can feel free
eat gold and pass the gleam

The Love
03:32
|
|||
Sucked inside the teal, by a vacuum of a soul
revealing a carnival of color and sound
I'd never seen I'd never heard, I'd never seen I've never heard
And the love is higher than the wind
Here i stand in my freedom
i know flight, it ain't no super power
convinced by a masked bird
that I'll never be seen I'll never be seen
never to be seen and never to be heard
And the love is louder than the thunder
Eggshells speckle the landscape
curiosity dismantles the clock
and now Frankenstein's monster
croaks a haunting tickless-tock
never to be seen and never to be heard
never to be seen and never to be heard
and the love it the scariest monster
My empty quiver
key digested to ether
the consumed disappear
never to be seen and never to be heard
to be seen and never to be heard
and the love is bigger than a heart can contain
and the love is bigger than a heart can contain

Full of Empty
03:01
|
|||
How many times can I feel this way?
Who knew growing up meant numb?
I don't know what I mean to say
but it's on the tip of my tongue.
Tangled words on the floor, my clothes in a ball
in my head, cobwebs just sleep
who knew getting older could make the eyes fail
except for but to weep?
Can't even go down dog, there's nothing in town, dog,
the streets are full of empty
How many times can I feel this way?
Who knew growing up meant full?
I know what I mean to say but I sound like a damn fool
tangled words on the floor, my clothes in a ball
in my head cobwebs just sleep
who knew getting older could make the eyes fail,
except for but to weep?
Can't even go down dog, there's nothing in town, dog
the streets are full of empty
